The Loft Photos

This was such a beautiful winter wedding! The day had a tasteful, elegant holiday vibe to it, and the rich colors were a perfect background for the gorgeous bride, groom and bridal party. Erika is favorite auntie to the two little flower girls who had so much fun being made into princesses for a day! I was touched to see how absolutely surrounded by love and support Darin and Erika were as they began their lives together, and once again enjoyed capturing the playful sweetness in their relationship.  One favorite memory: Our soft-hearted groom thoughtfully gave Erika a handkerchief to keep handy for wiping away any tears… but he ended up being the one who needed it!  😉

Kevin and Valerie have a beautiful love story…they knew each other growing up, and attended their First Communion together. Life took them down different paths, only to reunite them after they met again at a friend’s wedding. This day, for them, was about getting married, and having a good time while doing it! This truly was the first day of the rest of their lives together…I won’t forget Valerie mouthing the words “I love you” to Kevin during their first look, and Kevin telling us he thought Valerie looked like Princess Diana in her dress!

It’s a beautiful fall day in Towner, ND and Mike and Katherine are getting MARRIED! We had been looking forward to their wedding ever since we first met them at their engagement shoot.  Their fun, comfortable relationship has a certain spark that the camera just loves.

The day was filled with family and friends, special moments and tasteful details (elegant with a little bit of country!). A few personal favorites were Mike’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time, the mother/daughter dance with Kat and her mom, the vintage get-away car (just had time to get a few pictures before the raindrops came!) and the darling reception details. Mixing little white pumpkins in with the cupcake display was the cutest!

One thing we’ve noticed in getting to know this couple is that Mike loves making Kat laugh, and I dare say he’s better at it than anyone… it’s easy to see why she fell for him without ever even intending to. 🙂

We LOVE fall weddings! Especially fall weddings with sunflower bouquets, sunny days and colorful leaves all around–the perfect setting for gorgeous bride Teri and her handsome groom Brandon, with his almost smile. 😉  (Sorry, Brandon, maybe someday you will learn to “smile WITH teeth!”) The day progressed smoothly through all the preparations, first look, ceremony and bridal party portraits, with plenty of fun to go around. (OK, maybe there was a little too much of that North Dakota wind, but that just gave a pretty lift to the veil!)  It ended with the reception in a tent just outside of town, where someone had knocked themselves out with beautiful and thoughtful reception details! We loved the rustic, yet classy look of the reception. AND shooting in a white tent, with light bouncing all around! AND the food! Best. Food. Ever. Catered by Stump Lake Cafe…how fortunate that the groom has close connections to the caterers…namely, his parents! Just going through the pictures made me want to experience that meal all over again. Brandon and Teri, you guys are among the best of the best…thank you so much for including us in this memorable day. We hope it is just the first of many…congrats, Mr. & Mrs.!!

From high school sweethearts to “with this ring I thee wed,”  this couple is “perfect for each other!” Photographing the wedding of Ben and Erin was a truly joyful experience!  It was an absolutely glorious day from start to finish: So many gorgeous ladies in one place! The bride…Isn’t she lovely?! A fun-loving bride and groom and bridal party, a supportive family, adorable nieces and nephews! A beautiful dress, beautiful details. And, we get to see who the loyal Bison fans REALLY are! 🙂 The speeches were especially touching…Erin was praised as a classy lady, the best possible role model for her future nieces, and Ben’s mom talked about what an unexpected blessing their “Baby Ben” was. Looking at that cute “baby face” that Erin fell in love with, we kind of have to agree!
